An Anne of Green Gables Day on PEI

Spend a day visiting the magical places that inspired Lucy Maud Montgomery to write Anne of Green Gables! Here are some spots that you need to put on your list when touring Anne of Green Gables land!

The Anne of Green Gables Museum is full of history and things to see! The house was actually the home of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s cousins, whom she visited regularly. This is where you will find the “Lake of Shining Waters”! You can even book Matthew’s Carriage ride that will take you around the beautiful property and down to the beach.

Next, take the twenty-minute drive to Cavendish, the town where Lucy Maud Montgomery grew up. Stop in at Avonlea Village for some lunch and to stroll around the historic village! Then, visit the Green Gables Heritage Place and go through the Anne of Green Gables house! Here you will be able to visit with Anne & Dianne and walk through the Haunted Woods Trail!

While you are here you can take the short walk to The Site of L.M. Montgomery’s Cavendish Home. This is the property where Lucy Maud Montgomery grew up with her grandparents.

In the evening, drive to Charlottetown to grab some dinner and watch the Anne & Gilbert show at 7:30 pm! (Make sure to check the schedule and book your tickets ahead of time!)
