Cruisin’ Central Coastal: Dog-Friendly Activities

Planning a trip with your dog this summer? Here are some of the best dog-friendly activities,
restaurants, beaches, and accommodations to add to your Prince Edward Island vacation plans!

Pet-Friendly Beaches

The Provincial Beaches are the perfect place to take your dog for a morning or evening walk.
Leashed dogs are welcome at the Provincial Beaches, including Cabot Beach Provincial Park on
the North Shore, and Chelton Beach Provincial Park on the South Shore near the Confederation
Bridge. Camping is also available at Cabot Beach. In Central PEI, there are many local beaches
where you can take your dog, such as Thunder Cove Beach, Blooming Point, and Canoe Cove.
Keep in mind, not all local beaches have washroom facilities.

Treat your Pup

Brackley Drive-In: Enjoy an outdoor movie night with your dog at the Brackley Drive-In.

Crickers Creamery: Get an ice cream treat for yourself and a doggie treat for your pup in
North Rustico!

Cavendish Car & Pet Wash: Wash your vehicle and clean your pet at the same time at
Cavendish’s Car and Pet Wash. This is self-serve and is open 24 hours.

Joey’s Deep Sea Fishing: Bring the pup along for an exciting adventure on the water!

Dog-Friendly Patios
One of the best parts of PEI in the summer is patio dining, and there are plenty of restaurants in
Central PEI that welcome well-behaved dogs in their outdoor seating area. Here are some
restaurants with dog-friendly places to eat:

Lone Oak Beer Garden, Cavendish

Carr’s Oyster Bar & Grill, Stanley Bridge

Sou’west Bar and Grill, New London (allows dogs on the front patio only)

Richards Fresh Seafood, Victoria-by-the-Sea, Brackley Beach (Dogs are not permitted at
the Covehead location in the PEI National Park)

FIN Folk Food, Tracadie

Pet-friendly Places to Stay
Many properties on PEI offer designated pet-friendly rooms or cottages, making it easier to
travel with your dog. Before booking, check with the accommodation on pet fees and pet size
restrictions. These places have pet-friendly accommodations available:

Millstream Cottages

Farmhouse Inn

The Hideaway Collection

Gulfview Cottages

Shaw’s Hotel Limited

Marco Polo Land

Twin Shores Camping Area

Need a Day Without Your Dog? Consider Doggy Day Care.

While many attractions around PEI welcome dogs, there may be times when you’d like to spend
the day visiting a National Park that doesn’t allow pets, enjoy a round of golf, or explore
somewhere your dog can’t join you. Daycare gives your dog the chance to play, socialize, and
burn off energy in a safe place while you enjoy your vacation plans. Camp Good Dogs is a great
option to allow your pup to have their own vacation!
