Member Highlight: Margaret McEachern

Meet Margaret McEachern, owner and operator of Knitpickers PEI!

Margaret is redefining slow fashion on the Island through her love of natural fibres, thoughtful design, and community connection. Her studio is rooted in Canadian-made materials; from wool sourced from small farms and indie dyers to locally made knitting tools; with a strong focus on sustainability and quality.

One special exception is her handcrafted leather knitting binders, made by Ukrainian artisans, supporting makers navigating incredibly difficult circumstances.

A big part of her work is creating knitting patterns designed to build confidence, especially for newer knitters, with step-by-step guidance and helpful tutorials to make learning feel approachable and fun.

For Margaret, knitting is also deeply personal; a skill passed down from her grandmother that now brings calm, creativity, and connection to her everyday life.
