Step Back in Time with L.M. Montgomery: An Educational Adventure for Kids!

This summer, give your children the chance to experience the magic of history with the Bedeque Area Museum’s special educational children’s tours! Step back in time to 1897-1898 and spend a day in L.M. Montgomery’s classroom. This immersive experience is designed to transport young minds to a bygone era, providing both education and entertainment.

What to Expect:

19th Century Classroom Re-enactment Your group will be treated to a 90-minute tour that includes a faithful re-enactment of a 19th-century classroom. Imagine the thrill of sitting at old-fashioned desks, using quill pens, and participating in lessons just as children did over a century ago. It’s an excellent way for kids to learn about the past in a hands-on, engaging manner.

Historic Recess After a lesson, it’s time for some fun! The historic recess segment lets children play traditional games that kids of L.M. Montgomery’s time would have enjoyed. From skipping ropes to marbles, these activities provide a delightful glimpse into the recreational pastimes of the late 1800s.

Historic Craft The tour also includes a craft session where children can create something inspired by the era. Whether it’s making a simple toy or a piece of art, this activity will help solidify their connection to the past while fostering creativity.

This tour is ideal for children aged 5-12 and would make an enchanting birthday party experience. Imagine celebrating your child’s special day with a unique, educational twist that their friends will remember for years to come.
